MARTHA: I’d like to also recommend that parents see a counselor or a therapist, if they need to. It can be so helpful to sit across from the therapist, and talk about your worries, your fears, your concerns, your thoughts.
And to have them say back to you, well, that’s normal given your circumstances. And they can also provide you with really useful advice. Make time to take care of yourself. Try and find the time to exercise and to eat right.
You’ll be better able to take care of your child if you take care of yourself.
